Creative Development
Start with the idea. Find the shape.
Some projects arrive with a detailed brief. Others begin with a goal, a story worth exploring, or something a team knows it needs to communicate but hasn’t fully defined yet.
Creative Development is where we work through those questions together before production begins.

The first conversations matter.
We start by listening.
What are you trying to communicate? Who needs to understand it? What already exists? What feels important? What would make the work useful when it’s finished?
Those early conversations help us find the strongest direction without forcing the project into a predetermined format.
From idea to direction.
Once we understand the assignment, we begin giving it shape.
Depending on the project, that can include:
- story and narrative development
- creative direction
- format and deliverable recommendations
- interview approach and questions
- scripts or narrative frameworks
- visual references
- locations and subjects
- initial shot development
- reviewing existing photography, footage, or brand materials
Not every project needs every step. The process follows what the assignment needs.
Curiosity is part of the process.
Experience gives us a frame of reference, never a formula.
We bring ideas to the table, but we also leave room for the conversations, people, locations, and details that can change how we see the project.
The goal is a clear creative direction with enough room for discovery once production begins.
Then we make it real.
Creative Development leads naturally into pre-production, where the direction becomes a production plan.
From there, WSP can carry the project through film production, photography, editing, color, sound, and final delivery as needed.
